Oak & Winder Boudoir - Your Boudoir Experience Guide

I've been photographing women since 2020, and instantly, I fell in love with boudoir.

Not just because I love creating beautiful images — although I absolutely do.

It's because of what happens during the experience.

I get to watch women walk into my studio nervous, unsure of themselves, and sometimes already apologizing for the way they look...

And then something changes... They start laughing. They start relaxing. They start trusting me. And I turn the camera around and show them a woman they didn't realize was there.

That's my favorite part of this job.

I don't believe you need to change your body before you deserve beautiful photographs of yourself. You don't need to lose weight, wait until life slows down, or suddenly become confident before you book. You can be exactly who you are right now.

That's who I want to photograph.

Oak & Wilder Boudoir was created to be a little different. My studio is a private, in-home space in Upstate South Carolina, and I intentionally keep the experience personal and intimate. It's not a big commercial studio with people coming in and out. It's just you, me, some music, a little hype, a lot of laughing, and me telling you where to put every single part of your body because you absolutely do not have to know how to pose. That's my job. You just show up. I'll guide you through the rest.

And yes, I'll probably tell you "YES, GIRL!" approximately 700 times. 😂

So before you get into all the details of how this works, I want you to know the most important thing:

This is Your Experience

Boudoir isn't about looking like somebody else. It's about seeing yourself differently.

Maybe you're celebrating a birthday, an anniversary, a wedding, a new chapter, getting your confidence back after having babies, or simply deciding that you don't need a reason to celebrate yourself. Maybe you're doing this for someone you love. That's beautiful, too.

But I want you to know something:

You are allowed to do this just for you.

Your body doesn't need to look different first.

You don't need to wait until you're thinner.

You don't need to be "confident enough" to book a boudoir session.

You can walk into the studio nervous, awkward, and convinced you're going to hate every picture...

…and walk out wondering why you waited so long.

That's my favorite part.

So without further ado....Lets get started

Boudoir technically is a French word which means 'a woman's dressing room or bedroom', but I like to think of it as just a fancy word for women's intimate portraiture. Boudoir is NOT pornographic. Boudoir can be fun, flirty, beautiful, cute, sexy, feminine, intimate, candid, posed, or really anything else you want it to be.

There is no such thing as the perfect body. You are never too big, too small, too old, too young (well, I only accept boudoir clients who are 18+) to do a boudoir session. Boudoir is for every BODY. Let me show you.

I want to help you feel beautiful now, just the way you are. We flatter you with hair and makeup styling, a wardrobe that compliments your figure, and amazing lighting and posing techniques to highlight your best ass-sets (see what I did there?). I do not believe in heavy photoshopping. Don't get me wrong, we will gladly remove all of your bruises and pimples, but we don't want to over manipulate your body to make you look like someone you are not. We already live in a time where we are consumed with unrealistic bodies in the media, I want to show you that you are beautiful at this very moment.

My studio is located inside my private home in Gaffney, South Carolina. It's a cozy, intimate space filled with beautiful natural light and moody black walls, intentionally designed to make you the focus. The contrast of the dark walls and natural light helps you pop in every image while keeping the space warm, private, and comfortable. This isn't a busy commercial studio — it's a private space where you can relax, be yourself, and have the spotlight completely on you.

What would I do with boudoir portraits?

I actually believe that boudoir is the best gift you can give YOURSELF, to capture your essence as you are now. When you need a reminder of the strong, beautiful woman that you are, you will have a collection of amazing portraits to look upon. I love it when women come to me for themselves. The images we create together will boost your self esteem and your confidence, and that should be celebrated by YOU! It will help you reclaim your femininity, your sexuality, two things that are often lost as we get consumed with our lives, our jobs, our families. Put that pep back in your step, and reflect on the bodacious babe you are. Celebrate the body that you live in!

What about retouching?

We are happy to retouch your images! All of our images will have pimples, bruises, scratches, and under eye circles removed. We also offer retouching on things like cellulite, scars, small tattoos, stretchmarks, etc that you may want removed. Honestly, most of our clients are WOW-ed at how amazing their images look straight out of camera and opt for less retouching than they thought they needed. It's all a very personal decision, and one that we leave up to you once you have viewed your images. We do not remove tan lines or correct skin tone from tanning beds or spray tans, so proceed with caution.

What will I wear?

This is probably one of the questions I get the most. And my answer is: Whatever makes you feel like you. Lingerie is absolutely an option, but it isn't the only option. Oversized sweaters. Button-downs. T-shirts. Bodysuits. Your husband's shirt. A favorite pair of jeans. Something dramatic. Something simple. Something that makes you feel sexy. Something that makes you feel powerful. Bring it.

Oak & Wilder does not currently have a full client closet, so I recommend shopping your own closet first or purchasing pieces specifically for your session.

I do keep a very small emergency lingerie stash made up of pieces that past clients have donated when they no longer wanted them. Because it is a very limited stash, I can't guarantee specific sizes, styles, or pieces — but if you forget something or suddenly realize you need another option, we may be able to find a little something that works. When in doubt: Bring it. We can always decide together what works once you're here.

Do I get to talk to you before my session?

Please, no props, no spray tans, and absolutely NO WEAPONS will be allowed in the studio at any time.

We also do not allow anyone under the age of 18 in the studio, ever.

How does this work?

You’ll receive complimentary professional hair and makeup, then we’ll get you settled in and ready to step in front of the camera. I’ll guide you through every pose from head to pointed toe and help with your facial expressions, so you never have to wonder what to do. We’ll move through multiple outfits and setups, and yes — you may be a little sore afterward because boudoir is definitely a workout! 😂 Your session is completely guided from beginning to end, and the goal is for you to relax, have fun, and enjoy being the focus for the day.

How long does it take to get the albums and prints back?

You will receive your images in about 6-8 weeks once your final payment is processed! We usually drop ship everything directly to you in order to keep this process as simple as possible. We do not offer online galleries or multiple appointments for your reveal, all ordering decisions must be made at your reveal appointment.

So what do I need to do to book?

Session Fee $500

Our Session Fee can be paid in full or split into 2 payments of $250.

If the payment is split, the first half is due to reserve the session space on the calendar,

the second half is due within 14 days of the first. Failure to complete the payment in 14 days will

result in forfeiture of the session space and $250 payment.

Private in-home boudoir studio experience in Gaffney, SC
Complimentary professional hair and makeup
Professional boudoir photo session with Taylor
Complete posing and expression coaching
Multiple outfit changes
Multiple studio setups
Private image reveal & ordering appointment

**All images are purchased separately from the Session Fee**

I need my images by a specific date, when should I book?

Our studio books up 6-12 months in advance and our printed products can take up to 8 weeks for delivery. If you have a special occasion coming up or wish to book a holiday appointment, I recommend booking 12 months in advance of that date.

CAN I BRING SOMEONE WITH ME?

I want your session to feel personal and relaxed, so I generally recommend coming alone. However, I understand that sometimes you need your girl. You're welcome to bring one female hype girl with you if having her there will make you feel more comfortable.

But here's another option I LOVE: BOOK YOUR SESSIONS TOGETHER.

Grab your best friend, sister, cousin, or favorite girl and schedule your sessions for the same day. You can get ready together, hype each other up, laugh about how nervous you were, and celebrate each other afterward. When it's your turn in front of the camera, your session is still completely private and focused on you. Because sometimes confidence is easier when you have your girl beside you saying: "Girl. YOU LOOK GOOD."

What can I expect to spend at my Reveal & Ordering Appointment?

Before we have created your images, it is hard for me to give you an exact figure as to what to expect. Some women come to us and just get a basic album, others come to us and want it all and invest several thousands on a variety of products. Keep in mind what you spend is up to you. You can purchase from our Collection Menu or the A La Carte Menu, both which will be sent to you immediately following the completion of your booking process. Depending on the products or Collection you opt to pre-purchase, we will show you anywhere from 50-100 final images that will be printed on luxury products. It is an investment, one that is worth it's weight in gold. You'll never tire of looking at your images or forget the way the session day made you feel.

Our A La Carte products begin at $450 and go all the way up to $4900. Our Collections and Packages begin at $3400.

Have sticker shock? No worries, we know that this experience is an investment and therefore we offer several different payment plan options. You can split up the cost of any of our products via our interest free in-house payment plan and make smaller monthly or weekly payments towards your purchase leading up to your shoot (usually 6-12 months) or you can get financing through one of our payment plan companies by using the links below to apply.
